The Townsville Fire are proud to celebrate a major milestone in club history, with Shannon Seebohm coaching his 150th game with the Townsville Fire.
Reaching 150 games with the one club in the Women’s National Basketball League is a rare achievement and a powerful reflection of longevity, trust and shared belief between coach and organisation. Across seven seasons in Townsville orange, Seebohm has helped shape one of the most consistent and respected programs in the league. The results speak for themselves. In his seven seasons at the helm, Seebohm has been named WNBL Coach of the Year five times, led the Fire into the finals in five of those seven seasons, guided the club to three Grand Final appearances, and delivered one WNBL Championship.
Beyond trophies and accolades, Seebohm’s influence is deeply embedded in the identity of the Fire. His teams are known for their discipline, resilience and ability to rise in big moments, underpinned by a strong, values-driven culture. His calm presence on the sideline, attention to detail and tactical clarity have been hallmarks of the Fire’s approach in pressure situations.Players have thrived under his guidance, reaching new levels of performance and earning league recognition, while also growing as leaders within the group. Just as importantly, Seebohm has fostered an environment built on accountability, trust and connection — a place where high standards are matched by genuine care.Coaching 150 games with the one club also reflects the unseen work: the preparation, planning, mentoring and belief that go into building sustained success. It represents resilience through challenges and an unwavering commitment to the Fire program.
Townsville Fire CEO Sam Pascoe praised Seebohm’s impact on the club and the broader Fire community.
“Reaching 150 games with one club is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the consistency, trust and leadership Shannon brings every single day,” Pascoe said.“What stands out most is not just the success on the court, but the culture he has helped build. Shannon holds incredibly high standards while genuinely caring about his players and staff, and that combination has been fundamental to our sustained success. We’re proud of what he’s achieved with the Fire and excited for what’s still to come.”
