The Townsville Fire are excited to announce the signing of Australian 3 x 3 star Emma Clarke for the upcoming 2026/27 WNBL season.

Clarke arrives in Townsville following five seasons in the WNBL across the Perth Lynx, Sydney Flames and most recently the Bendigo Spirit.

The 26-year-old has built a reputation as a tough, high-energy two-way player, capable of impacting games with her perimeter shooting, defensive versatility and competitive edge. Standing at 186cm, Clarke adds valuable size and flexibility to the Fire lineup.

Townsville Fire Head Coach Shannon Seebohm said Clarke’s versatility and upside made her an exciting addition to the roster.

“We’re excited to welcome Emma to the Fire,” Seebohm said.

“She’s a versatile and athletic wing who we believe will make an impact on both ends of the floor with her energy, competitiveness and ability to play multiple positions.

“Emma is someone who still has a lot of untapped potential, and we’re looking forward to helping her grow within our program.”

Clarke said she was excited to join the Fire and continue developing within the club’s championship environment.

“I’m very grateful to be joining such a respected and successful organisation, and it’s an incredibly exciting opportunity,” Clarke said.

“Shannon has built a strong culture within the program, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop my game.

“I’m excited to compete at a high level and contribute to winning basketball this season alongside such a great group of girls.”

Emma is the first new player signing to the Fire’s roster for the upcoming season and will join championship winners Courtney Woods, Abbey Ellis, Alicia Froling, Miela Sowah, Alex Fowler and Chloe Forster, who are all returning for the 2026/27 campaign.

More exciting announcements are still to come soon as the Fire continue building towards another huge season at the Fire Pit.
